I started making a little stress test app for TEH MMORPG!!1. I didn't get that far though, since I haven't really written any code for the game servers yet. Then I started thinking that using Win32 async sockets for a MMORPG server probably isn't a great solution. I had a look at IO Completion Ports before, and found them an absolute nightmare to use, so I'll do my best to stay away from them. Having said that, if that turns out to be the best solution, I'll go and have another bash at them. The other choice is some sort of multithreaded solution, using select() et al.

I have to go and fix a friend's friend's boyfriend's PC too. Funny how I always seem to end being the person to speak to if your PC dies. He got a virus or something, and Windows logs out as soon as it logs in. I can't be bothered trying to mess around with safe mode, so I'm just going to reinstall Windows. I spent a couple of hours last night copying everything onto DVD and reformatting the drive (And splitting it into 2 partitions so I don't have to take the drive away next time).

Finally, my dad's decided that the problems he had with his PC was because his mobo doesn't like SATA drives. So he's just going to keep my 100GB IDE drive. Which is fine by me, because that means I get to keep his 200GB SATA drive.
I'm in the process of copying everything from my 200GB IDE drive to his 200GB SATA drive, so I can put the 200GB IDE drive into another PC and install the Vista beta I have from MSDN. Then I'll finally get to play with DX10. Yay!
