You guys might have seen/heard this before, but you have to get you to listen to The Ricky Gervais Show. Ricky Gervais has been in a number of shows like The Office. Now he has set up a weekly "podcast" show that's just fscking halarious (started begining of this month). Each episode is about 15 minutes long and you have to listen to the whole episode because it's just so funny how they progress through the show. Seriously, listen to all of episode 1 and you'll be hooked. Episode 2 gets even better. The official website is right here. Enjoy! ... My favourite is when the guys just giggle when Karl is talking. lol. Brilliant.

Sorry, I thought The Office was rubbish. Not at all funny, and I know many people who agree. Remember, we had it first, not the watered down American equivalent.

Puts me off Ricky Gervais for life, I'm afraid.

Ricky Gervais is just plain annoying.

The best thing about the internet is the way people with no experience or qualifications can pretend to be completely superior to other people who have no experience or qualifications.

It's an aquired taste. Yeah, in The Office, he is annoying, but he is meant to be annoying. He plays a complete idiot. It's a very bitter, cringe-inducing comedy, but in my opinion, one of the best of the kind (League of Gentlemen being on par imho). He is far less annoying in Extra. He plays a pathetic looser again, but he is far more bearable an believable as a character.

Everything is better with Metal.

Been subscribed to the RG show for about a week. It's now one of my faves.

RG fans should also check out "Extras", his new show. It's playing on HBO here in the states.

(my byline from the Gamedev Collection series, which I co-edited) John Hattan has been working steadily in the casual game-space since the TRS-80 days and professionally since 1990. After seeing his small-format games turned down for what turned out to be Tandy's last PC release, he took them independent, eventually releasing them as several discount game-packs through a couple of publishers. The packs are actually still available on store-shelves, although you'll need a keen eye to find them nowadays. He continues to work in the casual game-space as an independent developer, largely working on games in Flash for his website, The Code Zone (www.thecodezone.com). His current scheme is to distribute his games virally on various web-portals and widget platforms. In addition, John writes weekly product reviews and blogs (over ten years old) for www.gamedev.net from his home office where he lives with his wife and daughter in their home in the woods near Lake Grapevine in Texas.
