How to make reflection and shininess?

Reflection is done by scaleing the world negitivly around the plane of the mirror. Normally a stencil buffer is employed to make sure the reflection only shows up in the mirror. If you don''t have one you need to some fancy clipping. As for shiney.. try cube mapping.
