Pixel Shaders

How can I get pixel shaders work with reference rasterizer. People always say that "Reference rasterizer doesn''t support pixelshaders", but when I run MFCPixelshader it switches to reference rasterizer. When I check support for pixel shaders w/ caps.PixelShaderVersion it says that there is no support for pixel shaders in reference rasterizer, but it thinks that my Voodoo3 supports pixel shaders version 9.0 .

The reference rasterizer of DX 8 supports pixel shaders ps.1.1. The reference rasterizer of DX 8.1 supports pixel shaders ps.1.1, ps.1.2, ps.1.3 and ps.1.4.
You won''t get a realtime visual experience with the REF :-). The only way to go is to use a ps able graphics card.
