Info about "... %7.2f" symbols

Hi, when I use printf(....), I have an option to add some symbols, like "%7.2f". I know this has to do with number formats, but where can I lookup some detailed information on this topic (also in conjuction with the ''ellipses arguments''). Yes, I''ve tried MSDN, but it seems I can''t get the right topic in there. Thanks, edotorpedo
