texture mapping on a rough terrain

I have an ascii file as big as 25MB huge consisting of x,y,z coordinates(that of a rough terrain) and one single texture to be wrapped over these coordinates just as a blanket. I dont even need the coordinates to be displayed as points. I am wondering if there is any way to do it other than this: glTexCoord2f(*,*); glVertex3f(*, *, *); I am not even sure if the above works. Please guide me if I am going in a wrong direction. thanks, vijay.
