Direct X file format

does the directx file format (character animation) work ? i tried to export using the exporter provided in the sdk from the 3d studio max a simple character animation... then i tried to load the exported .x file via skinnedmesh.exe sample (open menu) it didnt work !!! why ? the sdk provided doesnt specify any special setting that must be done before exporting ....

Have you searched the forums? I dont know the answer to your problem but I''m sure I''ve seen loads of posts about this.
