What's the point of these: {__inline, _inline, inline}?

Is there any difference between using __inline, _inline or inline when inlining a function (except from maybe making your code non-portable)? They do exactly the same thing according to my tests. Is this just another strange MS thing that nobody understands?

Real programmers don''t document, if it was hard to write it should be hard to understand
