What type of lighting do you want to implement ? There are several different algorithms, good tutorials and resources are available for almost all basic methods.

Basic:
* flat shading (basic Lambertian equations)
* vertex lighting (gouraud, phong, the lighting is interpolated, hardware lights)

Intermediate:
* lightmaps
* perpixel lighting
* raytracing

Advanced:
* BRDFs
* radiosity
* photon mapping

Pick one

Go here and look under projects. You will find several articles on per-pixel lighting, bump mapping and shadowing techniques. A very good site IMO.

Death of one is a tragedy, death of a million is just a statistic.
