What dimension do a staggered iso-square have? I need to know this before I start writing my tile-engine to know how many rows and collums I should have...

If I read you correctly, width to height = 1:2 normally.

Edit: Should have made that clearer Tile width to height 1:2. That makes the screen width = (tilesX*tilewidth) and the screen height = (tilesY/2 * tileheight).
