Looking for bump maps

Make them yourself? it''s been my experience that when I needed a bump map, it was tailored to a specific object which had a specific diffuse (or other) map that needed a little more textured look. For that you make a black and white or grayscale image to your desired size and apply it to your object. In essence, the bump map will function just as a height map will except the bump map will only give the illusion is surface change while the height map will actually be used to create geometry like landscapes.

For most cases you''re not likely to find a generic bump map to suit your needs. Packages like Photoshop/Illustrator are great for creating these but they are fairly easy to make using Paint or similarly cheap software as well.
