How do you build the bsp tree of a rectangle? basically I have this
         a
     ---------
   b | | c
     | |
     ---------
         d

and my tree ends up like this

                a
               /
             b
            /
          c
         /
       d

which only describes one space shouldn't it separate 2 spaces? (one inside the rectangle, one outside) NickW [edited by - NickW on June 30, 2002 12:41:03 AM]

It does seperate the two spaces, think about it:

(assuming normals point outward)

Is point in front or behind a?
Front: outside rectangle
Back: walk tree to test b

Is point in front or behind b?
Front: outside rectangle
Back: walk tree to test c

Is point in front or behind c?
Front: outside rectangle
Back: walk tree to test d

Is point in front or behind d?
Front: outside rectangle
Back: inside rectangle
