OpenGL Actionmapping config within OpenGL?

I''m wanting to use ActionMapping in my opengl application, and was just wondering if anyone else out there has had success using the configuration functionality that comes along with IID_IDirectInput8... What I''m imagining, is that when I run the configuration menu, I''ll have to create a DirectDraw surface for it to use...am I correct? Is there weird screen flickering when the video device switches from an opengl to a directdraw surface? Has anyone else tried this out?? thanks in advance..
