anti-piracy techniques

Wow that link had alot of information in it...

I think there is one side to copy protection that seems to be missing all together, that is the psychological side... One guy hinted at something really interesting when he said that people will be far more likely to pirate software than they would be to steal anything else, not seeing software as property as such...

Some ideas that might come from taking a psychological approach could be:

* Tailor the game to the individual so that the users name is somehow incoperated in the game when they register it.
* Get the users contact details on registration.
* Give the user a stronger feeling of the person behind the game, maybe putting a photo of the team on the title screen or something.
* Give the user some sort of gift or token when they purchase the game. Like a gold card with their name on it or even a spot on your website? Rights to post messages on a private stratergy message board?

Any other ideas?
