concern when using D3DFVF_XYZRHW

Why is is that when I''m using the D3DFVF_XYZRHW flag for my vertex format and I set my z-value to 1.0f for all of the vertices in my vertex buffer the object doesn''t appear. (Any value below 1.0f and the object does appear.) I was under the assumption that 1.0f was the furtherest depth still visible. Has anyone else encounter this problem or possibly have an explanation for it? Thanx.

It''s simple, the value has to be between 0.0f and 1.0f. The values range from 0.0f to 0.99999f so 1.0f is not a valid depth value but 0.99999f is.
