D3DXMatrixScaling Problem

Hi all... i´m having problems while scaling my objects... If i scale to 1.001 each frame on each axis .. after many calls to this scale function ( to get my mesh even bigger every frame ) my mesh is getting dark to each call i make to D3DXMatrixScaling.. and if i use a scaling factor of 0.999 on each axis... my object is getting lighter each frame.. Is that a problem with normals ???? How do i solve that ?? ´m using .X files ... Thx
