Fog and Skybox question

In my terrain scene I''m using a skybox and then I try to add some fog, but if I use D3D''s fog, the fog clouds the skyboz and that totally defeats the purpose of having a skybox. I''m trying to mess with the range value of the fog/distance but nothing works. Does changing the order of the rendering process will work ??
