Howdy everybody! I''m using the JEDI DirectX header translations for quite some time now, but there''s one thing that I still don''t quite know how to do...Fading! I know how to do it with Direct3D, I know how to do it in 8 Bit mode (with palette modification) but I have no idea how to do it in 16 or 24/32 bit mode. I read the article on GameDev.net about using Gamma Control to achieve the fade but it doesn''t seem to work for me (although my video adapter supports gamma control). I''m looking for a simple way to do fade-ins and outs. Is pixel-modification the only way? Does anybody have a working sample?

We do fading in our games by drawing a big black quad over the entire screen at increasing alpha levels.

Wow i''ve been having the exact same issue...

What I want to do though is alter the palettes of my
individual bitmaps before i draw them, so i can shade each
of them easily... (i''m using 256 color bitmaps in 16 bit color mode) Again this seems to work in 256 color mode, but not higher....?
