I was reorganizing my DX8 Initialization code, and now I having a problem getting anything to display to the sceen. I am able to initialize everything fine, but when I try and render anything to the scene all I get is a short line down the center of the screen. I have beeen pounding my head against the keyboard because the code is basically the same as before and yet now it doesn''t work. The only thing in the code I''ve changed is I''m passing the IDirect3DDevice8 around as a pointer to other functions instead of just declaring it entirely global, does anyone know if this causes problems? I can''t find anythigng wrong, my matrices are set up right, the vertex buffers are all being loaded, I can''t find anything wrong. If anyone has any Ideas please let me know.

Possible cause of your problem are:

- a bad D3DVIEWPORT8
- a matrix badly initialised
- a mistake in the vertex format
- the render states and textures states which are not correctly set

I personnaly have a problem like you and it was both both matrix and vertex format.

Good Luck
