does anyone know of a good compiler for under $100

A compiler for which language? Borland offer free compilers. A C++ command-line compiler, Delphi 6 Personal Edition and Kylix 2.0 Open Edition.

There is also Dev-C++, MingW, GCC to name a few...

Bloodshed Dev C++ (Written in Delphi) Free (9.85 MB)

Delphi 6 Personal Edition Free (140MB) (Personnally recommended if you have highspeed)

Java Free (SDK+Compiler 8.37MB)
