Server-side Socket strategy for a chat application

Hi, I am currently programming a chat application under windows and I was wondering which socket strategy I should use for the server part: The server will have to handle 200 simultaneous connections max (in the reality there will be about 50 clients connected) I am used to programming asynchronous sockets, but will the server be able to manage 200 simultaneous connections? This chat application will mostly run on a LAN so bandwidth won''t be a problem
