dealing with rotated bounding boxes?

i need to do collision detection on a vehicle. i was thinking about two bounding boxes, one for the part with the windshield/side widnows, and one for the base of the car, from the bumper to bumper up to the hood. i know how to check to see if two of these are intersecting, but i have no idea how to do it if they are rotated. how do i handle rotated collision boxes? or, better yet, how do i use the colDet collision library?
