using DirectMusic effects, is there something wrong here?

i dont''t get any errors/failed results, but i don''t get the desired effect., here''s how i do it., m_pdmPerformance->CreateStandardAudioPath( DMUS_APATH_DYNAMIC_3D, 128, false, &m_pdmAudioPath); m_pdmAudioPath->GetObjectInPath(DMUS_PCHANNEL_ALL,DMUS_PATH_BUFFER, 0, GUID_NULL, 0, IID_IDirectSoundBuffer8, (LPVOID*) &g_pDSBuffer); g_pDSBuffer->SetFX(1, &dsEffect, &dwResults); g_pDSBuffer->GetObjectInPath( GUID_DSFX_STANDARD_ECHO, 0, IID_IDirectSoundFXEcho8, (LPVOID*)&echo); and then i declare a DSFXEcho structure, change the values there and call SetAllParameters of IDirectSoundFXEcho8, the effect that i don''t get is this, fLeftDelay = 2000.0f; fRightDelay = 1.0f; as the sound fades away, i should only hear it to the left of my speaker, i tried the audiofx sdk, well it worked there.., many thanks,
