If i have a header (lets call it header1.h) which is included in different headers from which some, but not all, have ''extern "C"'' linkage, how can it be detected by header1.h which linkage is currently used? I''m looking for something like this: #if //...extern "C" linkage... // do some declarations #else // do other declarations #endif Any ideas? blw

As far as I know, you can''t.

I would suggest not including headers from other headers. Make sure your source files (.c or .cpp) including all the headers needed, and you won''t have to worry about this.
