Christian Interactive Software

I know that interactive is a buzz word these days (well, was anyway), but given that just about all software is interactive (that being its purpose), isn''t it a bit needless to call your company "interactive software"?

Just a thought

well if he just made it "christian software" than it would sound worse than it already is. He''d probably get beat-down by a gang of Mulsim programmers.

Our development is called: "Christian Interactive Software" because:

1.) We make Christain software
2.) Our software will be more than just "software", it will be Interactive.

3.) And we can take on any musslim programmers.

Yeah, but my point is, ALL software is interactive. Calling it "Christian Interactive Software" is like Corn Flakes "Edible Cornflakes".

Hey, don''t be dishn'' corn-flakes--they''re good.

I just picked CIS for our name, just because.

The Christian is because it''s "Christian" software.
So why not call is Christian Interactive Software.

There''s really no point in debating in over a name I made up for my company. If the products are good, it doesn''t matter if it was called "Sorry Crap Software."

So it is your company name? or is it some lame way of saying that only Christians need apply? What is it lately with all this religous crap, everyone expecting the end of the world. Get a grip, get a clue, and get a life.

Who said the world''s going to end?

I like the idea of Christian software. I''m a Christian and I like seeing software with Christian themes in it. The game I''m making with have Christian parts in it''s main story. My main character wears a cross neckless.

BTW:If some lady wanted to start a software company that was run my all women writting software for women, would you people get all upset about that? No, it''s normal for people to want to have other people of similar interests to work together.

I WOULD!

Women shouldn''t write software! They''d get washing up liquid all over the computer and it would go rusty, then they''d spend a week cleaning between all the keys and polishing the monitor, and decoriating the CD-ROM drive with little hearts and flowers... and besides, who''d look after the children... what is the world coming to......

Um, just my thoughts anyway...

True, I guess things like screen savers and backdrops wouldn''t be called interactive. You can change settings, but you can''t interact with the images.

Pssst...

A very large percentage of software is not interactive. Take an automated factory floor, most of the software is embeded with no human interaction.

Interactive does not specifiy *who* you''re interacting with. It could very well be interacting with another program. Also, so called "automated factory floors" do interact with humans. The software you are referring to is known as (in the industry) MMIs, or Man Machine Interfaces. My last employer got all PC and decided to call theirs an "HMI" for Human Machine Interface, but you get the picture.

Anyway, you can bet that all that software on those factory floors is talking (through in most cases a PLC or Programmable Logic Controller) to an MMI, which is "Interacting" with a person.

Just FYI

My Response:
I think the request is terribly clear:
They are looking for talented programmers, artists, modlers, and designers to help with our current projects.

If someone called themselves "Salty Dog Software" would you assume that only Salty Dogs need apply?

As the case is, it's a group of programmers and artists who are Christians. Or it's a group of Christian programmers and artists. And they're working on a project, which is geared towards Christians, but could've just as easily have been a post requesting help for software geared towards Women, or Pet Owners or Mechanical Engineers. Why take offense? Some people are working on a project, and they're looking for Game Developers who are interested in helping.

As far as the end of the world goes, perhaps they just thought it to be an interesting topic. Because someone makes a game like Fallout that's Post-Nuclear War doesn't mean that they think it's about to happen, they just thought it to be an interesting backdrop for their story. People have always been interested in the end of the world, and some people have always thought it could be close at hand, while others think, hey, it's never happened, so why should we think it will? One day they'll be wrong I guess, but that's irrelevant...

Game developers looking for help on a project, is not.
