local coord problem

Hello all, I am making a polygon program where you have a bunch of polygons on the display, and they are moving around and when they touch, they change color and change in velocity when they head the side surfaces or each other. My question is with setting the local coordinates. I will have the flag so the programmer has the option to either keep the polygons within the display with no clipping and have them bouce off the walls or with clipping and they can leave one end of the displany and end up on the other. Well with my question, when the programmer wants to have the polygons go from one side of the display to the other, I am not sure how to do my local Coords once I have clipped it? Maybe someone can help, not sure if anyone will understand what i''m trying to say but I hope someone does. Thanks Michael
