about alpha blending and texture

Recommended Posts

for example, i have 3 textures, 1 : grass tile(bmp), 2 : sand tile(bmp), 3 : alpha tile(bmp). a month before i've managed to implement "tile transition" using alpha blending. for example, to get a "grass to sand transition", the method was: (1)draw grass tile with alphablend disable (no need to use it) (2)setup sand tile's alpha information using alpha tile's bits ( copy one by one ) (3)draw sand tile with alphablend enable thus i got the result on SCREEN. NOW THE PROBLEM IS, i want to have a result texutre ( a grass to sand transition texture e.g.) at initial time(got a texture), not running loop(draw on screen). and how can i DrawPrimitive on a texture ?! please help~thanks in advance [edited by - wonyee on August 12, 2002 5:44:17 AM]

I dont completely understand the question but to answer the last bit to draw on a texture you create a surface and change the render target to render to that surface as opposed to the back buffer - simple as that
