studio max rotation
ei does anyone here know how studio max does it''s rotation? cause when i input a 90 degree rotation on y then follow it with a 90 degree rotation on z, a value appears on my x-axis textbox stating a 177 degree rotation on x and leaving my z-axis textbox a zero?
This might help me in figuring out why when i rotate my object by x and then by z, then i would like it to return to it''s original position by rotating x then z again, it does not return to it''s original orientation.
much thanks
jm
Funny that you ask about this... I just started reading a few things about whats called "Gimbal Lock" and I can't really figure it out... but I'm pretty decently sure that the problem that you're describing has something to do with that
EDIT: Oh yeah and here is a link that I was just reading that I believe will answer your question about 3DS Max: EularQuats
