and no idea why.. I''ve installed the glut rpm (on red hat 7.3) i search the /sbin/ldconfig -v list and libglut.so.3 is in there. glut.h is not in the /usr/include/GL/ dir however. but it is in the Mesa.../include dir and im trying to run a Mesa demo. anyone know why? cheers, Fonz

Glut.h must be downloaded and installed before you can use it :-P

It is very possible that the rpm you downloaded was just the libs for runtime, and not the libs + headers for development.

More accurately, you should download/install the glut-devel RPM. In general, most library RPM''s like Glut also have an associated -devel RPM that includes header files, static libraries, etc. needed for building software and linking against the library.

Hope this helps!
