Direct3D flicker with 2D images...

I just finished a sprite system using Direct3D 8, and it works fine, with the exception that if I move a sprite around, it seems to be redrawing itself every once in a while like the VSYNC is screwed up or something. I can''t find a flag to make it right. Anyone know why this could be happening?
