Memory leak

I wonder if there is a freeware program which logs memory leaks of a specific program. Do you know anything like this? For example it chekcs the heap of the specified program and logs amount of usage of it into a text file... Thank you.

Look into overloading the new and delete operators. While great care should be taken when doing it, it can provide a fairly 'simple' way of logging everything your program allocates and deallocates during run time.

Depends on the OS and the compiler.

Linux has some free software that is meant to do what you want, but I have never used.
