two quick Direct Sound Questions

just some quick questions that most likely have quick answers 1 you play your music on audio path''s that are in proformances and such but you can only apply effects to the buffers inside of the audio paths so am I just supposted to make a new audio path for ever set of effects I want like for echos and one for high speed and one for chorus and reverb? 2 and I just want to know if the correct way of loading things into memory is to create a segment for every sound I want to play like one for a gun shot one for the music one for the foot step?
