Does anyone happen to know of a good way to create multiple Direct3D surfaces in a MDI(Multiple Document Interface) project? I''m trying to make it so that the user can open multiple "editing windows" That all have a different DX display in them. Help would be much appreciated!

Having many different views of the same document is in fact a Single Document Interface- this is what you are actually trying to create. Microsoft no longer recommend development of MDI app''s, and would prefer seperate SDI apps (one for each instance of a document).

The sample MFC wizard is as good a place to start as any, and you can set the render target (for each view) by manipulating the CD3DApplication::m_hWnd. Try experimenting with supplied code, but whatever you do you''ll need a reasonable knowledge of MFC.

Cheers

Matt
