Is it possible to have a MFC dialog displayed over a fullscreen D3D8 rendered scene? We used to use Dx7 with directdraw, which allowed us to have our assert displayed in front of the scene, but I could not find any sample on how to do this with D3D8... anyone could point me to any ressource? Thanks "Do it with style or don''t bother doing it."

There's a good example in the DirectX 8 SDK. It;s not really MFC though. MFC is a set of wrapper classes for the lower level Windows API. This example uses the lower level Windows API I think.

Assuming a typical installation, the sample project is in:

C:\DXSDK\samples\Multimedia\DirectDraw\FullScreenDialog

Value of good ideas: 10 cents per dozen.
Implementation of the good ideas: Priceless.

As you can see, those sample are DirectDraw samples using Direct Draw Surfaces from DX7.

I would like to do this using Direct8 w/o using Dx7 stuff

Thanks
