Is there a quick and easy way to output to a log file, that comes with SDL? I know stderr and std (something else) get temporarily created and then deleted when the file stops running. Is there anything I can do to output to those files?

I don''t know, but try to look at SDL source.
Find files for "NO_STDIO_REDIRECT". I think somewhere there you can find out how it is done in SDL

stdout.txt and stderr.txt don''t get erased if they are written to(like if a cout is called, stdout.txt won''t be erased when the application is finished)
