"Texture not created with this device" D3D8

I did a search on these forums and on flipcode''s forums, but couldn''t find an answer, so now I post. My renderering code is all in a DLL, I dynamicaly load that dll and call functions from inside that dll to alter the api. When I load a texture, right after it I set it, but if I attempt to set it again, I get the following error "Texture not created with this device". The problem is I only have one device. A point in the right direction would be great. Thanks in advance. -ecko

I believe this''ll happen if the texture gets released/recreated and you try to set the rendering texture using an old pointer. Not sure if this is what you''re running into - is your call to set the texture also creating the texture? Do you have a sample of code?
