Visual C++ 6 Standard: DirectX 7: DirectDraw: Samples

It sounds like you have forgotten to tell Visual Studio where the headerfiles are. Because an older version of DirectX SDK comes with the compiler it doesn''t give you the error ''failed to include ddraw.h''. You have to go to menu option Tools->Options and then click on the Directories tab and there add the location of the DXSDK7 header files and libraries. Make sure you move their locations to the top of the list so that they will be found first.
