when one sound is played the other one stops!!! help

hello i use directX audio to play sounds. but when load in one wav file. then play it while another one is playing the one that was playing stops even if it hasnt finished? how do i get multiple sound effects to play at the same time? will i have to use multi threading or is there a way to do it in directx audio? thanks

Just create a separate segment for each sound, and use the DMUS_SEGF_SECONDARY flag in PlaySegmentEx. Then play music in another segment without the flag.
