What is "Collision map" ?

Hi, can you explane what is Collision map and how it works? Actually i need cool explanation coz i''m newbie in question. Thanks !

Where have you heard the word collision maps? I''ve tried to find it on various game development related sites, but nothing, and since no one has answered you yet, I''m starting to wonder if something like a collision map exists.

Well, Quake 3 uses collision maps. You can see that it is loaded in the beginning of each mission. But this is probably just a special version of the worldmap that only contain information on collidable objects and surfaces, obviously structured to speed up collision testing.

I doubt that there is some special technique that is called ''collision map''.
