where to get linux?

is there any place I can d/l me a good copy of linux?(I''m a total n00b, btw, but willing to learn; I''m not installing it to run my pc, but to learn.) I have a redhat 6.0 cd here, but I heard it sux a little. Neways, thx.

I like Slackware a lot. And it's the only i've been using for years.

I like slackware too. I have it loaded on the laptop. My reasons mostly being that it doesn''t install a lot of the bloat that other distros install. Sure you can select expert mode on those distros and start unchecking everything, but what a pain. I didn''t find that problem with slackware. Also I''m not a big fan of rpms so I hate the rpm dependency hell. Slackware has support for rpm, but I''d prefer to download the source or a binary that doesn''t need installing.

I''m gonna get red hat. I''ve asked the network admin at college, and he sais it''s the easiest to get started with, and then you can learn all the stuff later on.

For the record, RedHat is my fave distro. RedHat and SuSE. Just make sure you never get a ".0" RedHat release (ie 6.0, 7.0). Wait till about ".2" for them to work out the kinks and you''ll be just fine.
