radiosity - how do i gen' lightmap textures from vertices color?

hi i have my radiosity engine up but one thing is missing! how do i generate lightmap textures from the vertices color? in the most efficient way! - well maybe not the most 10x

well, thats true for single meshes not for big level! , at least that whats i know in 3dmax & radiosity - it creates baked texture meshes.
if you know how to do it for big levels?? i would like to know how...
