in glut, the mouse every frame?

im doing a racing game in glut, and i want to be able to listen to where the mouse is on the screen - from that i would get the steering... ...but glutMouseFunc() only does its thing when there is a click and glutMotionFunc() the nearest to what i want, still requires u to keep the mouse pressed. is there a way in glut to do what i want?

It depends on what version of the red book you''re reading.
Of course, nothing beats searchin the actual glut.h
