I NEED HELP with 2D Animation!
can anyone tell me where i can find a tutorial for animation in a 2D? what i really want is to know the process of how to setup it up. the animation code in Windows Game Programming / Tricks of the Guru is not too helpful in explaining. It just lays the code out there with minimal explanation.
So if anyone can post the code, give a GOOD algorithm, or point me to tutorial that will be great. Also i want the code to be api independent. for learning purposes mostly.

I don''t know if you are using VB or C++ but the easiest animation method (that I know of) is Windows Game Programming For Dummies WGPDUMB game engine. For C++ it uses a system called BOBS that are created with multiple image files. However it runs of DirectX 7 Direct Draw so now it''s a litlle behind the times but it is a good place to start. It simply loads bitmaps into a BOB and you can move them check collsions animate with up to (60?) images i think and much more my suggestion is to get the book or I think the engine is on their web site. Hope this helped.
The only thing that seperates man from animal is the fact that we can computer program.
