...Installed side-by-side with VC++6 ? I have VC++ 6, and just saw VS .NET for sale pretty cheap at the campus bookstore. Can I have them both running so that if I don`t like VS.NET, I can just delete it and go back to playing with VC++6 ? :-D Bugle4d

You can, but there are some special caveats to that. I don''t have the .NET stuff with me so I can''t tell you what special things have to be done. Someone else who has immediate access to the package may know.
i''ve got ''em both installed (VS.net for personaly project and VS6 for work stuff) I found that i had to install VS6 first and then VS.net to get it to work properly (it wasnt finding files when i loaded VS6)
Yes, load VS6 + service packs first and then VS.NET. Nothing "special" has to be done besides this (plus it is always better to load older software first.)

Thanks for setting me straight on the "special" thing.

I only remembered that there was some special notice about it with the paperwork that came with .Net. I admitted I didn''t remember the detail.
