Direct3D running OpenGL?

I created my first OpenGL program not to long ago and I looked at the Debug window for VC++ after running it, and I see Direct3D debug there. Most of it is in matter of fact. There is a little mention of WGL but the rest makes it seem like a Direct3D program is running. Anyone know why this is? (No Direct3D libraries are linked)

Are you running WinXP and not installed your video cards drivers? WinXP''s default OpenGL driver uses D3D for hardware acceleration when you dont have proper OpenGL drivers for your hardware installed.
