Which files should I include to gain acces to the CString class? Also, I would to know if using CString is to slow, should I create my own class instead?

You will need to include afxwin.h in your source file. You will also need to change your project settings to include MFC in which ever form you choose (static vs. dynamic).

However, if your only interested in the functionality of CString, maybe you should check out STL''s string class instead. Just search in help for string.

As for speed, CString is quite fast and efficient, the only downer is the extra baggage that goes with it.

I would suggest using the STL string class or you could write your own CString class. This is the approach I would take as most of the functionality that the MFC CString and that of the STL is "too much" for what a game needs. I''m sure with a bit of searching on the net you can find a string class that would suit your needs. Or you could write your own. Email me if you need some help.
