I was wondering what the differences between C++ and C# are, just the major ones. Is it worth learning after C++ or should I not bother with it? Also waht is so special about the visual C++ compiler? I have never used it and I was thinking about buying it.

different language.
C# is new but is created by microsoft to compete with java.

C++ is the good old standard regulated by ansi. stick with this.

visual .net is a compile / ide from microsoft which can be used to compile c / c++ / c#. buy it if you are serious about developement.

there are alternatives to visual c++ (its kinda expensive), so check them out too, but only visual .net can compile c#.

Its my duty, to please that booty ! - John Shaft
