Does a vertex shader fail on an early TnL card (like GeForce 256) running on a pure hardware device as it doesnt have shader functionality?? Later, Raptor

Vertex shaders fall back on a software emulation that is *supposed* to be pretty fast. I haven''t ever actually tried this.

On a card like that if you want to use both TnL & Shaders, you have to create it in MIXED mode, and then set it (SetRenderState) to HW for TnL, and set it to SOFTWARE when you want to use shaders.

Software vertex shaders are pretty quick on a decent CPU.
