Hi, I am working in direct3D version 7 and I cannot do vertex lighting like the older versions do I was wondering If there is another way? I am using the D3DTLVERTEX vertex in d3d and I want to set its specular value and use it as lighting. If this is impossible then Is there an easy way to light in D3D 7?

Hi

The easýiest way doingthe lighting, is let Direct3D do it, for that you have to use the D3DVERTEX Structure for your Vertices.
But i think you are dooing your Transformations and Lighting by Hand, so you have to make shure that Lighting is disabled like Kertropp said. And to use Specular Lighting, u have to enable the Specular Renderstate. (They changed some of the default Values from 6 to 7)
