I''m a n00b to C++ and I want to know what the extension .cpp is? Also, what compiler should I use?

and for reference check out all of this site''s options before asking a question, if you use the serach function up above you will find almost ALL of your questions answered SOMEWHERE, you just need to know what to search for.

Too bad the search feature is disabled...

If you have 100 dollars to spend, Microsoft Visual C++.NET and if not Dev-C++, I don''t know the websites off hand, search on google for them

but I would appreciate it if we could avoid the usual "My compiler is better than yours" argument, we all have different tastes.

Plus should this be moved to "For Beginners" forum (moderator)?
